David Curtis is an Award-Winning Illustrator, Book Designer and Art Director currently living in Brooklyn, New York. Originally from the Jersey Shore, he was influenced by Surfing and Skateboard art at an early age, and carries that aesthetic into his work. With the use of bright colors, psychedelic abstractions and disregard for a sense of scale, his images challenge the viewer to look closer and longer to find additional hidden meaning.
Concurrently, he is working HarperCollins Children’s Books, where he designs and art directs book covers for Young Adult and Middle Grade readers.
David’s clients and collaborators include Paramount Pictures, NASA, Wizards of the Coast, Legendary Comics, Penguin Random House, Scholastic, Tor Books, Amazon, among others.
He has also exhibited art in galleries in New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto as well as appearing on the Spine Magazine Podcast and The Imaginaries Podcast.
